Responsibilities
- Develop 5-year technology roadmaps for quantum computing, synthetic biology, and neurotech verticals
- Partner with R&D teams to prototype exponential technologies (e.g., quantum-encrypted AI systems)
- Produce annual 'State of 2026' reports for C-suite and investors
- Lead cross-functional 'Future Scenario' workshops with Fortune 500 clients
- Secure $2M+ in innovation grants for applied future-tech projects
- Mentor junior futurists in horizon scanning and trend analysis methodologies
Qualifications
- 7+ years in technology strategy, innovation consulting, or emerging tech R&D
- Advanced degree in Futures Studies, Systems Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Published work on exponential technologies (quantum, AI, biotech) in peer-reviewed journals
- Proven track record translating future scenarios into commercial IP portfolios
- Certification in Foresight methodologies (e.g., SWOT, Delphi, STEEP analysis)
- Experience securing federal grants for emerging tech (SBIR/STTR programs)
- Portfolio demonstrating 3+ future-tech commercialization projects
