Responsibilities
- Architect and implement 5-year technology roadmaps for emerging domains (quantum computing, neural interfaces, decentralized systems)
- Lead cross-functional R&D teams in prototyping next-gen solutions
- Conduct horizon scanning to identify disruptive technologies with 3-7 year impact potential
- Develop ethical frameworks for AI/automation implementation across industries
- Present strategic technology briefings to executive stakeholders and board members
- Partner with academic institutions to establish industry-academia innovation pipelines
- Drive adoption of sustainable technology practices in product development lifecycles
Qualifications
- 10+ years in technology strategy with 5+ years in emerging tech R&D leadership
- Proven track record in commercializing breakthrough technologies (quantum/AI/blockchain)
- PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent demonstrable expertise
- Deep understanding of exponential technology trends and their societal implications
- Exceptional strategic planning and systems thinking abilities
- Strong background in technology ethics and responsible innovation frameworks
- Experience securing and managing multi-million dollar R&D budgets
- Published thought leadership in peer-reviewed journals or major industry publications
