Responsibilities
- Develop and execute 5-year technology roadmaps aligned with market trends and business objectives
- Lead horizon scanning for emerging technologies (AI/ML, quantum computing, biotech convergence)
- Architect proof-of-concept frameworks for next-gen platforms with 15-24 month development cycles
- Present strategic recommendations to executive stakeholders and investor boards
- Manage innovation pipeline with KPI-driven prioritization and resource allocation
- Build and mentor cross-functional teams of engineers, designers, and domain experts
- Establish partnerships with academic institutions and technology pioneers
Qualifications
- 10+ years in technology strategy or R&D leadership with 5+ years in emerging tech
- Proven track record launching at least one platform-scale product (>$100M ARR)
- Expertise in at least two future-tech domains: AI governance, quantum applications, or neurotech
- Certified in technology foresight methodologies (e.g., Horizon Scanning, Delphi Method)
- Experience scaling teams from 5 to 50+ members with distributed operations
- Published thought leadership in peer-reviewed journals or industry whitepapers
- Fluency in strategic planning frameworks (OKRs, Lean Startup, Porter's Five Forces)
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Strategic Innovation required
