Responsibilities
- Architect 5-year technology roadmaps aligning with market trends and business objectives
- Lead R&D initiatives in quantum computing, neural interfaces, and decentralized systems
- Conduct horizon scanning for emerging technologies with venture-style due diligence
- Develop patent strategies and IP portfolios for breakthrough innovations
- Partner with VCs and startups to scout and acquire transformative technologies
- Present strategic briefings to the board and executive leadership team
- Mentor junior futurists and build internal innovation ecosystems
Qualifications
- 10+ years in strategic technology planning with Fortune 500 or unicorns
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Futures Studies
- Proven track record in launching AI/quantum/IoT products at scale
- Expertise in scenario planning and technology forecasting methodologies
- Certification in emerging technologies (e.g., AWS Quantum, Google AI)
- Published thought leadership in IEEE or MIT Technology Review
- Strong network with DARPA, NASA, or top-tier research institutions
