Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization and machine learning applications
- Lead cross-functional teams of physicists and software engineers in quantum hardware development
- Develop error correction protocols to achieve fault-tolerant quantum computation
- Secure $2M+ in annual research funding through grant proposals and industry partnerships
- Publish findings in top-tier journals and present at international conferences
- Mentor junior researchers and establish quantum computing curricula for university partnerships
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 5+ years industry experience
- Proven track record of peer-reviewed publications in quantum computing
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq)
- Deep understanding of quantum error correction and fault tolerance
- Experience leading technical teams and managing research budgets
- Strong background in superconducting qubit or photonic quantum systems
- Exceptional communication skills for stakeholder engagement and knowledge transfer
