Responsibilities
- Lead quantum algorithm development for practical applications in cryptography, optimization, and machine learning
- Design and execute quantum computing experiments using superconducting and photonic systems
- Drive cross-functional innovation with AI and materials science teams
- Publish high-impact research in peer-reviewed journals and industry conferences
- Secure $5M+ in research funding through strategic grant proposals
- Mentor a team of 5-7 quantum researchers and graduate fellows
- Develop roadmaps for quantum advantage implementation in enterprise environments
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 8+ years quantum research experience
- Proven track record of publishing in Nature/Science journals
- Expertise in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Proficiency with quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq) and simulation tools
- Strong background in condensed matter physics or quantum information theory
- Experience securing NSF/DoD/DARPA research grants
