We're seeking a visionary Quantum Computing Research Scientist to develop next-generation algorithms and protocols for fault-tolerant quantum systems. You'll collaborate with Nobel laureates and industry pioneers in our state-of-the-art Austin facility, contributing to projects that will solve previously impossible computational challenges.
What you'll achieve:

Responsibilities
- Research and develop novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Implement quantum error correction codes to achieve fault tolerance
- Collaborate with hardware teams to co-design quantum processors
- Lead quantum software development using Qiskit and Cirq frameworks
- Mentor junior researchers and present findings to executive stakeholders
- Secure research funding through government grants and industry partnerships
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum algorithm development
- Published research in Nature/Science or equivalent tier journals
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq)
- Deep understanding of quantum error correction and fault tolerance
- Experience with quantum hardware simulators (IBM Q, Rigetti)
- Strong background in linear algebra and complex analysis
