Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation
- Lead cross-functional projects with hardware engineers and domain specialists
- Publish breakthrough research in top-tier journals and conferences
- Develop error-correction protocols for scalable quantum systems
- Collaborate with government agencies on national security applications
- Mentor junior researchers and quantum engineering interns
- Secure $2M+ in annual research grants from NSF and DARPA
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum algorithm development experience
- Proficiency in Qiskit, Cirq, or equivalent quantum programming frameworks
- Published work in Nature/Science or IEEE Quantum journals
- Expertise in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant systems
- Strong background in machine learning and high-performance computing
- Active DoQ Level 3 security clearance or ability to obtain
- Experience with superconducting or trapped-ion quantum processors
