Responsibilities
- Design and optimize quantum algorithms for practical commercial applications
- Lead cross-functional teams in prototyping quantum hardware-software interfaces
- Develop error-correction methodologies to achieve fault-tolerant quantum systems
- Collaborate with industry partners to identify quantum-advantage use cases
- Publish research in leading scientific journals and present at global conferences
- Secure external research funding through government and private grants
- Mentor junior researchers in quantum programming and experimental physics
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years hands-on experience with quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, etc.)
- Deep understanding of quantum error correction and fault tolerance
- Published research in quantum computing or quantum information theory
- Proficiency in high-performance computing environments
- Strong analytical skills with ability to translate complex theory into practical solutions
- Experience securing research grants from NSF, DOE, or DARPA
