We're seeking a pioneering Quantum Computing Research Scientist to architect next-gen algorithms and solve previously impossible computational challenges. Our Austin campus features state-of-the-art quantum annealers and superconducting qubit systems. You'll lead cross-functional teams in prototyping quantum solutions for Fortune 500 clients while publishing groundbreaking research in Nature and Science. This position includes equity grants and access to our $50M quantum innovation fund.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Lead quantum hardware-software co-design projects with IBM and Google partners
- Develop error correction techniques for fault-tolerant quantum computing systems
- Present research findings at IEEE Quantum Week and ACM conferences
- Mentor PhD researchers in quantum information science
- Secure $5M+ in DARPA and NSF grants for 2026 quantum initiatives
- Collaborate with cryptography teams to post-quantum security standards
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (postdoc preferred)
- 3+ years experience with quantum programming languages (Q#, Quil, Cirq)
- Published research in quantum error correction or topological qubits
- Proficiency with quantum circuit simulation frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq)
- Demonstrated ability to secure government research funding
- Expertise in quantum machine learning algorithms
- Strong background in condensed matter physics or quantum optics
