Job Description
Join Nexus Quantum Labs at the forefront of computational revolution as we pioneer quantum systems that will redefine technology by 2026. We're seeking a visionary Research Scientist to develop next-generation quantum algorithms and error-correction protocols. Our multidisciplinary team collaborates with MIT, Stanford, and NASA to build fault-tolerant quantum processors capable of solving previously unsolvable problems in materials science, cryptography, and artificial intelligence.
This role offers unparalleled resources: access to our 128-qubit quantum processor, dedicated research budget, and the opportunity to publish in Science and Nature. You'll shape the future of quantum computing while working in our state-of-the-art facility overlooking the San Francisco Bay.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Develop quantum error-correction codes to achieve fault tolerance in multi-qubit systems
- Lead experimental validation of quantum protocols using our cryogenic quantum processor
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to co-design quantum software-hardware interfaces
- Publish breakthrough research in top-tier quantum computing journals
- Secure external funding through NSF and DoE grant applications
- Mentor junior researchers in quantum information theory
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering with quantum specialization
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Publication record in quantum computing or quantum information theory
- Expertise in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Proficiency in Python, C++, and low-level quantum control systems
- Experience with cryogenic quantum systems or superconducting qubits
- Strong background in linear algebra and complex analysis
- Ability to communicate complex quantum concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
