This role demands a blend of technical acumen and strategic foresight, working with C-suite executives to transform emerging trends into market-ready innovations. You'll lead cross-functional teams through the full innovation lifecycle, from ideation to commercialization.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the 2026 innovation strategy, aligning with company vision and market trends
- Lead R&D initiatives in next-gen technologies (AI/ML, quantum computing, biotech)
- Partner with product teams to translate breakthrough concepts into scalable solutions
- Manage a $5M+ innovation portfolio with ROI-focused prioritization
- Build and lead a high-performing innovation lab with 15+ engineers and scientists
- Represent FutureWorks at global tech forums and thought leadership summits
- Drive patent development and IP protection for core innovations
Qualifications
- 10+ years in tech innovation strategy, with 5+ years in leadership roles
- Proven track record of commercializing emerging technologies
- Expertise in at least two of: AI/ML, quantum computing, or sustainable tech
- Advanced degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Business Innovation
- Experience managing multi-million dollar R&D budgets
- Strong network within Silicon Valley tech ecosystems
- Certification in Innovation Management (e.g., PDMA, CMI) preferred
- Published thought leadership in peer-reviewed tech journals
