Responsibilities
- Lead quantum algorithm research for cryptography, optimization, and machine learning applications
- Manage cross-functional teams of 10+ researchers across physics, computer science, and engineering
- Develop quantum error correction protocols for fault-tolerant computing systems
- Collaborate with industry partners to implement quantum solutions in finance, logistics, and healthcare
- Secure $5M+ in research funding through NSF, DARPA, and corporate partnerships
- Present breakthrough findings at premier conferences (QIP, APS March Meeting)
- Contribute to quantum computing standards development with IEEE and ISO
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science with 5+ years industry experience
- Published research in quantum algorithms or quantum error correction (10+ peer-reviewed papers)
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Quil) and quantum simulators
- Track record of leading quantum computing projects with measurable impact
- Deep understanding of quantum hardware architectures (superconducting, trapped ion)
- Experience securing federal and corporate research funding
- Strong background in machine learning and high-performance computing
