Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for cryptography, optimization, and machine learning applications
- Lead cross-functional teams of physicists, computer scientists, and engineers in quantum system development
- Publish peer-reviewed research in Nature/Science journals and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Collaborate with industry partners to develop quantum-resistant security protocols
- Manage quantum hardware integration with classical computing infrastructure
- Develop roadmap for 2026 quantum computing commercialization initiatives
- Mentor junior researchers and establish quantum computing curriculum standards
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Theoretical Physics, or Computer Science (MS with 8+ years experience considered)
- 5+ years hands-on experience with quantum programming (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Published research in quantum error correction or topological quantum computing
- Expertise in quantum machine learning frameworks (e.g., PennyLane, TensorFlow Quantum)
- Experience leading technical teams of 10+ researchers/engineers
- Deep understanding of NISQ-era limitations and fault-tolerant architecture design
- Active clearance for DoD quantum security initiatives preferred
