Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms targeting NISQ-era hardware limitations
- Develop robust error-correction frameworks for fault-tolerant quantum computation
- Lead cross-functional research initiatives in quantum cryptography and secure communications
- Author high-impact publications for premier journals and conference proceedings
- Collaborate with hardware teams to co-design quantum processor architectures
- Secure and manage government and industry research grants for quantum innovation
- Mentor junior researchers in quantum information theory and experimental techniques
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 3+ years postdoctoral experience
- Published research in quantum algorithms or error correction in Nature/Science journals
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#) and simulation frameworks
- Deep understanding of quantum decoherence and topological quantum computing
- Experience with superconducting qubit systems or trapped-ion quantum processors
- Strong track record of securing competitive research grants (NSF, DoE, DARPA)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
