Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, simulation, and machine learning applications
- Lead research initiatives in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant computing architectures
- Collaborate with hardware teams to translate theoretical models into practical quantum systems
- Publish peer-reviewed research and present findings at top-tier conferences (QIP, APS, etc.)
- Secure external funding through NSF, DOE, and industry partnerships
- Mentor junior researchers and contribute to quantum computing education initiatives
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 3+ years of quantum computing research
- Expertise in quantum algorithms (Shor, Grover, VQE, QAOA) and quantum simulation frameworks
- Proficiency with quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#) and high-performance computing
- Published record in quantum information science or top-tier computer science venues
- Experience with cloud quantum platforms (IBM Quantum, Amazon Braket, Microsoft Azure)
- Demonstrated ability to secure research grants and lead cross-functional teams
- Strong background in linear algebra, probability, and computational complexity
