Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum error correction protocols for fault-tolerant systems
- Develop hybrid quantum-classical algorithms for optimization problems
- Lead experimental validation of quantum supremacy claims on 50+ qubit processors
- Collaborate with hardware teams to mitigate decoherence challenges
- Publish findings in Nature Quantum and IEEE journals
- Secure $2M+ annual research grants from DARPA and NSF
- Mentor PhD candidates in quantum information theory
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field (2020-2024)
- Published peer-reviewed research in quantum computing (3+ papers)
- Proficiency in Qiskit, Cirq, or quantum circuit simulation frameworks
- Experience with superconducting qubit architectures or trapped-ion systems
- Deep understanding of Shor's algorithm and quantum Fourier transforms
- Strong Python/C++ programming with numerical libraries (NumPy, SciPy)
- Ability to secure government research funding
