Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for complex optimization problems
- Develop error-correction techniques to enhance quantum processor stability
- Collaborate with hardware teams to co-design quantum system architectures
- Lead peer-reviewed research publications for top-tier journals (Nature, Science)
- Mentor junior researchers and graduate interns in quantum methodologies
- Secure external funding through NSF and DARPA grant applications
- Participate in quantum standards development with IEEE and NIST
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum algorithm development experience
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq)
- Publication record in quantum information science
- Deep understanding of quantum error correction and fault-tolerant computing
- Experience with superconducting or ion-trap quantum platforms
- Strong background in linear algebra and complex analysis
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
