Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization problems
- Develop error-correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum systems
- Lead cross-functional R&D projects with engineering and AI teams
- Publish breakthrough research in top-tier quantum computing journals
- Secure $2M+ annual research grants from federal agencies
- Mentor postdoctoral researchers and PhD candidates
- Contribute to open-source quantum frameworks like Qiskit and Cirq
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field
- 5+ years experience with quantum circuit design and simulation
- Expertise in at least one quantum programming framework (Qiskit, Cirq, etc.)
- Published research in quantum algorithms or quantum error correction
- Strong background in linear algebra, probability, and computational complexity
- Experience with superconducting or photonic quantum hardware
- Proven ability to secure government research funding
