Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, simulation, and machine learning applications
- Develop error correction protocols and fault-tolerant quantum architectures
- Lead experimental validation of quantum circuits using superconducting and photonic platforms
- Collaborate with hardware teams to co-design quantum processors with 10+ qubit coherence
- Publish breakthrough research in Nature/Science journals and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Secure $500K+ in annual research funding through DoE/NIST grants
- Mentor postdoctoral researchers and quantum computing interns
- Contribute to open-source quantum frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq)
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 3+ years industry research experience
- Published research in quantum algorithms or quantum error correction in top-tier journals
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Q#, Quil) and frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq)
- Proficiency in quantum circuit simulation and optimization tools (Qiskit Aer, PyQuil)
- Deep understanding of quantum decoherence mechanisms and mitigation strategies
- Experience with cryogenic quantum hardware systems or photonic quantum processors
- Strong track record of securing government or corporate research grants
- Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders
