Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and machine learning applications
- Develop error-correction techniques to enhance quantum system stability
- Collaborate with hardware teams to translate theoretical models into practical implementations
- Publish research in leading journals (Nature Quantum, IEEE Quantum) and present at conferences
- Mentor junior researchers and supervise PhD interns from Stanford and Berkeley
- Secure $2M+ in annual research grants from NSF and DARPA
- Lead cross-functional projects with AI and cryptography divisions
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (postdoc preferred)
- 3+ years experience with quantum programming (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Published research in quantum computing or quantum information theory
- Expertise in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Strong background in linear algebra, probability, and computational complexity
- Experience with high-performance computing environments (HPC)
- Proven ability to secure competitive research funding
- Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
