Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Collaborate with hardware teams to develop and test quantum processors at cryogenic temperatures
- Lead research initiatives in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant systems
- Publish breakthrough findings in Nature/Science journals and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Mentor junior researchers and drive cross-functional innovation between physics, CS, and engineering teams
- Secure $1M+ in quantum computing grants from NSF and DARPA
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or Applied Mathematics with 3+ years quantum research
- Proficiency in quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, PennyLane)
- Expertise in quantum algorithm design and complexity theory
- Publication record in top-tier quantum computing conferences (QIP, QCE)
- Experience with superconducting or trapped-ion quantum systems
- Strong background in linear algebra, probability, and information theory
- Ability to translate complex quantum concepts into practical business applications
