Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Lead experimental validation of quantum hardware prototypes using superconducting and photonic systems
- Develop error-correction frameworks for fault-tolerant quantum computing architectures
- Collaborate with hardware teams to co-design quantum processors targeting 1000+ qubit systems
- Publish breakthrough research in top-tier journals and present at international quantum conferences
- Secure federal grants and corporate partnerships for quantum research initiatives
- Mentor junior researchers in quantum information theory and experimental methodologies
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering with quantum computing focus
- 5+ years of hands-on quantum algorithm development or hardware research
- Expertise in quantum error correction, quantum machine learning, or quantum cryptography
- Proficiency with quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Track record of peer-reviewed publications in quantum computing
- Experience with cryogenic quantum systems or photonic quantum processors
- Strong analytical skills with ability to model complex quantum systems mathematically
