Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Develop quantum error correction protocols for fault-tolerant systems
- Lead research in topological qubit architectures and quantum supremacy applications
- Collaborate with hardware teams to define quantum processor specifications
- Publish peer-reviewed research and present at international quantum conferences
- Mentor PhD researchers and establish quantum computing standards for 2026
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of quantum computing research with published papers in Nature/Science
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq)
- Experience with superconducting and trapped-ion quantum systems
- Deep understanding of quantum information theory and complexity classes
- Track record of translating theoretical models into experimental implementations
- Ability to secure competitive research funding from NSF/DARPA sources
