Responsibilities
- Design and deploy quantum computing hardware infrastructure with 99.99% uptime SLAs
- Develop cryogenic control systems and quantum error correction protocols
- Architect hybrid quantum-classical computing workflows for enterprise clients
- Lead security implementations for quantum-resistant encryption systems
- Create predictive models for quantum hardware performance optimization
- Collaborate with academic institutions on quantum networking standards
- Mentor junior engineers in quantum systems engineering best practices
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years experience with quantum computing hardware (superconducting, trapped ion, or photonic)
- Expertise in cryogenic engineering and quantum control systems
- Proficiency in Python, C++, and quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq)
- Strong background in distributed systems and high-performance computing
- Published research in quantum error correction or quantum networking
- Security clearance or willingness to obtain DOE Q-level clearance
