Responsibilities
- Develop 5-year technology roadmaps focusing on AI ethics, quantum computing, and biotech convergence
- Lead cross-functional 'Horizon Scanning' initiatives to identify disruptive innovations
- Design and execute innovation incubation programs with $10M+ annual budgets
- Present strategic briefings to C-suite and board members on emerging tech risks/opportunities
- Build and manage a global network of futurists, VCs, and academic thought leaders
- Drive patent strategy for breakthrough technologies in climate and space sectors
- Mentor innovation teams using design thinking and scenario planning methodologies
Qualifications
- 10+ years in strategic innovation, R&D leadership, or futurism roles
- Proven track record of commercializing emerging technologies (AI, quantum, biotech)
- Advanced degree in Technology Forecasting, Systems Engineering, or related field
- Deep expertise in scenario planning, technology adoption curves, and disruption theory
- Published thought leadership in peer-reviewed journals or industry whitepapers
- Experience with federal innovation programs (ARPA-E, IARPA, DARPA) preferred
- Exceptional communication skills for translating complex concepts to diverse audiences
