Responsibilities
- Design scalable quantum computing architectures using superconducting qubits and photonic systems
- Develop error correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum processors
- Lead hybrid quantum-classical algorithm implementations for real-world applications
- Collaborate with hardware teams to optimize quantum-coherent system designs
- Research emerging quantum technologies (topological qubits, quantum networks)
- Mentor junior quantum engineers and publish breakthrough research
- Secure $10M+ in quantum computing research grants
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (Master's with 8+ years experience)
- 5+ years designing quantum computing architectures or error correction systems
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq)
- Published research in Nature/Science journals on quantum systems
- Expertise in cryogenic engineering and microwave control systems
- Experience with quantum machine learning algorithms
- Strong track record of securing government/industry research funding
- Ability to communicate complex quantum concepts to non-technical stakeholders
