Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Lead experimental validation of quantum hardware systems with 100+ qubit stability
- Publish breakthrough research in top-tier journals and present at international conferences
- Collaborate with quantum hardware engineers to bridge theoretical and practical implementation gaps
- Develop quantum error correction protocols for fault-tolerant computing systems
- Mentor junior researchers and drive cross-functional innovation initiatives
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 3+ years postdoctoral experience
- Expertise in quantum circuit design and quantum programming languages (Q#, Quipper)
- Proven track record of publishing in Nature/Science or equivalent high-impact journals
- Deep understanding of quantum decoherence mitigation and topological quantum computing
- Experience with quantum hardware platforms (IBM Quantum, Rigetti, IonQ)
- Strong background in machine learning for quantum systems optimization
- Ability to secure competitive research funding through NSF/NIH grants
