Responsibilities
- Architect 5-10 year technology roadmaps for quantum computing, synthetic biology, and neurotech convergence
- Lead R&D initiatives in next-gen interfaces (BCI, holographic displays, tactile feedback systems)
- Partner with VPs of Engineering to integrate emerging tech into product development lifecycles
- Deliver keynote presentations at global tech summits on future technology paradigms
- Establish strategic partnerships with academic institutions and national research labs
- Develop patent portfolios for breakthrough innovations in decentralized AI systems
- Mentor cross-functional teams in speculative design and scenario planning methodologies
Qualifications
- PhD in Computer Science, Quantum Physics, or Bioengineering with 8+ years in R&D leadership
- Published research in top-tier journals (Nature, Science, IEEE) on emerging technologies
- Expertise in at least three of: quantum machine learning, synthetic neurobiology, or distributed ledger tech
- Proven track record of commercializing futuristic technologies (min. 2 successful exits)
- Experience with speculative design frameworks and horizon scanning methodologies
- Deep understanding of ethical implications of exponential technologies
- Exceptional communication skills translating complex concepts to diverse stakeholders
