Responsibilities
- Architect and execute the 2026 technology roadmap, aligning with market trends and business objectives
- Lead cross-functional teams in prototyping and validating emerging technologies (quantum computing, neural interfaces, synthetic biology)
- Conduct horizon scanning to identify disruptive technologies with 3-7 year commercialization potential
- Develop strategic partnerships with academic institutions, government labs, and industry pioneers
- Present technology forecasts and recommendations to the board of directors
- Manage $5M+ annual R&D budget for future-focused initiatives
- Establish ethical frameworks for responsible innovation and deployment
Qualifications
- 10+ years in technology strategy, R&D leadership, or futurist consulting
- Proven track record in commercializing emerging technologies
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Deep expertise in at least two emerging tech domains (AI, biotech, quantum, AR/VR)
- Experience with scenario planning and technology forecasting methodologies
- Certification in Technology Foresight or Strategic Innovation Management preferred
- Exceptional presentation skills with executive audiences
- Portfolio of published research or thought leadership in tech innovation
