Responsibilities
- Scan horizon for emerging technologies (quantum computing, AI ethics, biotech convergence) and assess commercial viability
- Develop 5-10 year strategic technology roadmaps aligned with market evolution and business objectives
- Lead scenario planning workshops to prepare for disruptive market shifts and technological inflection points
- Establish KPIs for innovation maturity and track progress against future-state benchmarks
- Present strategic insights to executive stakeholders and board members with compelling data narratives
- Build and maintain relationships with academic institutions, startups, and industry consortia
- Author thought leadership publications on future technology trends and their societal impact
Qualifications
- 10+ years in strategic technology planning, innovation management, or futures research
- Proven track record of anticipating market shifts and translating trends into business strategy
- Deep expertise in at least two emerging technology domains (e.g., quantum computing, synthetic biology, decentralized systems)
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or Futures Studies
- Exceptional analytical skills with experience in horizon scanning and trend analysis methodologies
- Strong presentation skills with experience influencing C-suite executives and boards
- Portfolio of published thought leadership or strategic frameworks for future technologies
- Experience leading cross-functional teams in matrixed organizations
