As a thought leader in our Austin-based innovation hub, you'll collaborate with C-suite executives, R&D teams, and global partners to identify paradigm shifts in AI, quantum computing, biotechnology, and sustainable systems. Your insights will directly influence product development, market expansion, and investment decisions in our $2B innovation portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Analyze global tech and societal trends to forecast market disruptions through 2026+
- Develop scenario-based strategic roadmaps for emerging technology adoption
- Lead cross-functional workshops to align stakeholders on future opportunities
- Produce executive-level trend reports and innovation briefs
- Partner with R&D to translate foresight into tangible R&D initiatives
- Represent Horizon Labs at global futurism conferences and industry forums
- Mentor junior futurists and build internal foresight capabilities
Qualifications
- 10+ years in strategic foresight, innovation consulting, or future-focused tech roles
- Proven track record of predicting market shifts (portfolio of published forecasts)
- Deep expertise in at least two emerging tech domains (AI/ML, quantum, biotech, etc.)
- Advanced degree in Futures Studies, Systems Thinking, or relevant technical field
- Exceptional storytelling skills with ability to translate complex concepts for executives
- Experience with scenario planning and trend-mapping methodologies
- Strong network of futurists, VCs, and industry thought leaders
- Published author or speaker at global innovation conferences
