Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care including vital signs monitoring, medication administration, and wound care during weekend/night shifts
- Document patient observations accurately in electronic health records using EMR systems
- Collaborate with on-call physicians and nursing staff to address emergent situations
- Assist with patient mobility, hygiene, and comfort measures during overnight hours
- Maintain sterile environments and infection control protocols per CDC guidelines
- Respond to patient call lights promptly and assess urgent care needs
- Participate in shift handovers and team huddles for seamless continuity of care
Qualifications
- Active Indiana Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Medical Assistant (MA) certification required
- Minimum 1 year experience in hospital or long-term care setting
- BLS/CPR certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- Strong communication skills for patient/family interactions during off-peak hours
- Ability to remain alert and perform duties independently during overnight shifts
- Proficiency with electronic health records (Epic/EMR preferred)
- Flexibility to work alternating weekends and holidays as needed
- Valid Indiana driver's license for potential transport duties
