Are you an experienced IT professional looking for a stable, full-time role with a flexible schedule? We are seeking a dedicated Weekend Systems Administrator to join our team in Houston, TX. This is an immediate start opportunity for a technical expert to ensure our infrastructure runs flawlessly during critical off-peak hours.
In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of our enterprise systems. You will work independently and collaboratively to ensure business continuity and data integrity, making you a vital part of our 24/7 operational success.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain on-premise and cloud server infrastructure during off-peak hours (Saturday and Sunday).
- Execute critical system updates, patches, and security hardening without disrupting weekday business operations.
- Monitor server health, storage capacity, and network performance to ensure 99.9% uptime.
- Perform nightly backups and conduct data integrity verification.
- Resolve escalated technical tickets and troubleshoot hardware/software issues.
- Document all maintenance activities and create runbooks for standard procedures.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in System Administration or IT Support.
- Strong proficiency in Linux (RHEL/CentOS) and Windows Server environments.
- Valid Driver's License and mandatory availability to work weekends.
- Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- CompTIA Security+ or higher certification preferred.
