Responsibilities
- Develop 5-year technology roadmaps aligning with market evolution and societal trends
- Lead incubation of emerging tech ventures (quantum applications, bio-integrated systems)
- Conduct horizon scanning for disruptive innovations across AI, IoT, and clean tech
- Partner with C-suite to integrate futuristic insights into corporate strategy
- Build and lead global innovation labs with 20+ technical specialists
- Present foresight frameworks to Fortune 500 clients and industry consortiums
- Secure $5M+ annual R&D budget for experimental technology initiatives
Qualifications
- 15+ years in tech innovation with 5+ years in strategic foresight roles
- Proven track record launching breakthrough technologies (3+ examples)
- Deep expertise in at least two emerging tech domains (quantum, AGI, synthetic biology)
- Advanced degree in Futures Studies, Systems Engineering, or related field
- Published thought leadership in peer-reviewed tech journals
- Experience securing federal/state innovation grants ($1M+)
- Fluency in futures forecasting methodologies (Delphi, scenario planning)
- Strong network with DARPA, NSF, and national lab stakeholders
