Responsibilities
- Design and implement fault-tolerant quantum computing architectures for commercial applications
- Develop quantum algorithms optimized for NISQ-era processors and future fault-tolerant systems
- Collaborate with physicists to translate quantum mechanical principles into engineering solutions
- Lead cross-functional teams in prototyping quantum hardware-software interfaces
- Research emerging quantum technologies (topological qubits, photonic quantum computing)
- Document quantum system architectures and publish research in peer-reviewed journals
- Mentor junior quantum engineers and drive technical excellence within the organization
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science with 3+ years industry experience
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Q#, Quil, Cirq) and quantum circuit design
- Deep understanding of quantum error correction codes and fault-tolerant architectures
- Proven experience with quantum simulators (Qiskit, Cirq, PennyLane) and cloud quantum platforms
- Strong background in linear algebra, probability theory, and quantum mechanics
- Publication record in quantum computing or related fields (arXiv, IEEE, Nature)
- Ability to translate complex quantum concepts into actionable engineering specifications
