Responsibilities
- Lead Infrastructure Maintenance: Oversee critical system patches, security updates, and database optimizations during our off-peak weekend windows.
- Deploy High-Impact Features: Release new product features and API updates to production with zero downtime, utilizing blue-green deployment strategies.
- System Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Proactively monitor system health, logs, and metrics to identify and resolve potential issues before they impact users.
- Code Quality Assurance: Conduct code reviews and ensure all engineering standards are met for the weekend sprint team.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the Product and QA teams to define sprint goals and deliverables specific to the weekend cycle.
- Incident Response: Serve as the primary technical lead for weekend incident response and post-mortem analysis.
Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years of professional backend software development experience (Python, Go, or Java required).
- Schedule Availability: Must be available to work Full Time on weekends (Saturday and Sunday) or a rotating weekend schedule.
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Database Mastery: Deep understanding of SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis) databases.
- Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex, distributed systems independently.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to document processes and present technical findings.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
